Professor Dr. M. Abul Kashem

Vice Chancellor, HSTU

Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) is an essential part of a university to ensure quality of learning and training programs in higher education. The Ministry of Education of Bangladesh constitutes the Quality Assurance Unit (QAU) under Higher Education Quality Enhancement Project (HEQEP), University Grants Commission of Bangladesh in 2014. With the financial support of the World Bank, IQAC has been set up in different public and private universities. Presently the government is patronizing the establishment of this cell to upgrade academic activities of this university. It will gradually become a part of the university's own activities. I hope that this newly formed Cell will play an important role in ensuring quality of education, research and administration. The main goal of this cell is to introduce the culture of quality assurance. In this case, I wish co-operation of all concerned.

Benefits of IQAC at HSTU

  • IQAC of HSTU will facilitate review of quality standards and quality of teaching learning in each program by ensuring a participatory curriculum design and review process.
  • The design process would be need-based.
  • IQAC of HSTU will facilitate developing qualifications framework for each program by effective governance mechanism.
  • IQAC of HSTU will facilitate accreditation process at both institutional as well as program level.
  • Institutional linkage with other academic institutions, research organizations and industries will ensure multi-disciplinary approach of knowledge production.
